Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) Introduces Hemp Economic Mobilization Plan (HEMP) Act of 2024

On Thursday, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) introduced the Hemp Economic Mobilization Plan (HEMP) Act of 2024. The bill would amend the current definition of hemp by raising the THC limit from 0.3% Delta-9 to 1.0% Delta-9 THC and require that testing occur on final hemp-derived products rather than on the plant itself. The bill would also provide a “measure of uncertainty” to create a transparent margin of error in the testing process and require a certification document when transporting legal hemp products to prevent law enforcement interference when transporting in between and across states.

This is third session of Congress Senator Paul has introduced the bill.
